VKhUTEMAS was the Russian state art and technical school founded with a decree by Lenin in 1920 in Moscow. They were intended, "To prepare master artists of the highest qualifications for industry, and builders and managers for professional-technical education." It was a Russian equivalent of the Bauhaus. The school was avant grade in its outlook, and covered constructivism, rationalism and suprematism in its syllabus.

These works continue to follow the ideas covered in VKhUTEMAS and are also conversant with the theories of the MATRIX series.
